Jeff Dennison was a boater and well-loved canal character who lived on his boat 'Coronation' at Ansty in Warwickshire
until he sadly passed away in 2002. Benny Graham is a folk singer who is steeped in the music of the north east of
England. He has worked as a solo performer as well as in groups such as Pegleg Ferret and most recently The Pitmen
Poets, as well as frequent involvement in the theatre. Together they put together the show "They're Coming Back to
the Water" which featured songs, the spoken word and historic photos. The show was performed in many canal related
venues and it is very fortunate that one concert at The Canal Museum, Stoke Bruerne was filmed and made available
as a VHS tape. This tape is no longer available so, with Benny's kind permission, it can be viewed here. The
contribution Jeff and Benny made to promoting canals through song cannot be underestimated. After Jeff's demise
Benny presented the show for a while with Johnny Handle who had written the show’s title song "They're Coming Back
to the Water" as well as many other excellent songs which can be found on this site.
